The Kobold School

Information and Approval

The Kobold School of Real Estate is an approved real estate school by the Georgia Real Estate Commission for the purpose of offering Georgia-approved Salesperson Prelicense, Broker Prelicense, Community Association Manager (CAM) Pre-license, Salesperson Post-license and Continuing Education courses.

The Kobold School Georgia Real Estate Commission approval code is 7804 and the end of renewal date is 12/31/2024.

Course Hours

Specific Education Credits may be given in conjunction with successful completion of the following in-class course offerings. Please consult your individual course description to determine the specific hours available for any given course. All courses labeled as “Pre-license” satisfy all of the hours required for that license.

  • 25 Hour Salesperson Post-license Course
  • 60 Hour Broker Pre-license Course
  • 25 Hour Community Association Manager Pre-license
  • 3 Hour Continuing Education Courses
  • 6 hour Continuing Education Courses

Preliminary Decision

For pre-licensing candidates with prior criminal convictions or disciplinary sanctions – you should submit details in writing to the Georgia Real Estate Commission using the Application for Preliminary Decision (GREC Rule, 520 – 1 – .04(11)).  Please contact the Georgia Real Estate Commission (GREC):

Grading

A score of 75% or better on all homework, quizzes and final and midterm examinations is required to pass a course that requires a final examination. If you do not score at least 75%, you may retake the exam one time, no sooner than one day after the first attempt. If you fail to achieve a passing score on the second examination, you must repeat all course instruction before taking another examination. A re-enrollment fee is required.

Attendance

All cell phones and pagers must be turned off before entering the classroom. Attendance is captured via Sign-In Roster, which must be signed by the student before each session of class. Failure to sign in shall result in an official absence. Students must be on time and remain in class for the duration of each class session to receive credit. Students who are more than 30 minutes late are required to make up the entire session. A $35.00 make-up fee is assessed for each session missed. Students who miss more than two sessions (one day or two nights) of the course shall be required to repeat the entire course, after paying a fee.

Continuing Education

Note: Three (3) and six (6) hour courses are non-refundable and non-transferable. Continuing Education students will not receive any continuing education credit for taking a class if they have taken the same course within the previous calendar year.

Homework

All required homework assignments must be completed satisfactorily before taking a school final examination.

Course Completion

All in-class courses must be completed within one (1) year of the original enrollment date.

Instructor Evaluations

All students will be provided the opportunity to make unsigned, written evaluations of instructors and course material.

Recruiting

No recruiting for employment opportunities for any real estate brokerage firm is allowed in this class or on the school premises. Promptly report any recruiting efforts by anyone to Kobold School of Real Estate Director of Education, Barbara S. Oliver at (404)519-1665 or the Georgia Real Estate Commission (GREC). GREC Rule 520-2-02(10) (formerly Rule 520-2-15).

Non-Discrimination

The Kobold School of Real Estate will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, familial or handicap status in the establishment of fees, entrance qualifications or standards for successful completion of any course.

Returned Checks

Any applicant who has a returned check due to insufficient funds will be assessed a $35.00 service charge.

Changes

Scheduled dates, locations, policies and prices are subject to change. All required notifications to the Real Estate Commission will be accomplished.

Enrollment Transfer

No student may transfer his/her enrollment application and/or paid tuition to another student or to different course.

School Records

Kobold School of Real Estate will maintain the following information in each student record for a period of at least five years; student’s name, address, real estate and/or appraise license number, date if enrollment, course title, and records, reflecting attendance and certifying score.

Method of Instruction

The method of instruction used for in-class is instructor-based. Should you have any questions or difficulty regarding the course content, the Director of Education, Barbara S. Final Examination

Only the Salesperson Pre-license and the Broker Pre-license, CAM courses require a final examination. All testing must be completed within one (1) year from the date of enrollment.

Refunds

Kobold School of Real Estate does not refund payments unless we cancel a course. However, if a student needs to change their stating date from their original enrollment, a $30.00 transfer fee will apply if transfer is made before class start date. After class starts, a fee is charged to transfer. The transfer must be to a class that will be completed within one (1) year or the original enrollment date. After one year, the full enrollment fee is required. Note: Installment payment are non-refundable. Three (3) and six (6) hour courses are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Certification

Upon completion of a course (including successfully passing the examination), your certification information is sent electronically to the Georgia Real Estate Commission with two business days from the date it was received. You will not receive and certificate. Contact the Georgia Real Estate Commission to verify the receipt of your hours. A student may not receive credit for any continuing education course that he or she has taken within the previous calendar year.
